How It Works

Every piece begins with a story, a vintage blanket, a sketch, and a slow process of transformation.  Each coat or jacket is made individually in our Amsterdam studio with care, intention, and time.

  • It all begins with an idea — your story, your colors, your feeling.

    Send us a message with your thoughts, your measurements, and what you’re dreaming of wearing.

    We’ll help you find the perfect blanket and suggest the level of work that best fits your needs and lifestyle.

    Once you've envisioned your piece, email us at info@fitolcollections.com with your request.

  • Select your blanket, your color palette, and your preferred style, simple, cropped, mid, or long.

    You’ll then decide how you’d like your coat to be made.

    There are four levels of craftsmanship, each with a different approach and price range:

    1. Made Beautifully Simply — For everyday ease.

    Light, soft, and wearable. Unlined with clean finishes.

    (Approx. 4–9 hours of work.)

    2. Made Carefully — Detailed & Reversible

    Structured, versatile designs showing either both sides of the blanket or elements from the blanket.

    (Approx. 9–15 hours of work.)

    3. Made to Last — Tailored & timeless.

    Structured and fused, with luxurious lining and handmade details.

    (Approx. 20+ hours of work.)

    4. Made from Memory — Antique & rare textiles.

    Created from hand-loomed wools or vintage velvets, restored and preserved.

    (Approx. 25+ hours of work.)

    If you have a special blanket of your own, you can send it (cleaned and ready to use) and give it a second life as your coat. (an amount of 60 euros to 100 euros will be off from the total price)

  • Once everything is confirmed from our conversation above, we begin the process slowly and thoughtfully.

    You’ll receive sketches, updates, and images as your jacket/coat takes form.

    Every step, from cutting to final stitching, is done by hand with respect for the fabric’s form.

    A €25–€50 design fee covers your initial sketches, later deducted from your final total.

    A €100 deposit secures your blanket and begins production.

    The remaining balance is due once your piece is ready to ship.
