The Story
This breezy summer shirt started out as a rare, vintage, French, woven cotton napkin set that came with a main tablecloth. We found nine to ten matching napkins made of 100% cotton. They have a soft turquoise background with woven black-and-white stripes and faint red, emerald, and yellow borders. They are a true beauty. Due to their unique patterns, the set is estimated to be from the 1960s to 1980s. This premium-quality pattern features a dobby weave with small diamond patterns and bold woven stripes. (Not printed.)
Each napkin was carefully cut and reassembled to create this one-of-a-kind shirt, preserving as much of the original pattern as possible while respecting the fabric’s history and layout.

A little backstory
This shirt began its life as a soft, beautifully woven napkin set made in France. We added it to our collection three summers ago and have been waiting for the right moment to use it. Due to its rarity, we made it available as a made-to-order item in the past.
This spring, we finally felt ready to give it a second life. We transformed it into an easy, breathable shirt that you can wear every day with your favorite pants, skirts, summer shorts, sandals, or even ballerinas.
We love the softness against the skin, the subtle diamond-woven pattern, the bold stripes, and how this piece carries something from the past into the present.
About the Making
Each shirt / top in the From Table to Treasure collection takes between 5.5 to 8 hours to complete.
• 1 to 2 hours go into gentle washing, on-spot cleaning, or mending as needed.
• 1 to 3 hours are spent cutting and carefully placing each element to highlight the original details.
• 1.5 to 2 hours for machine sewing and seam finishing.
• 1 hour for hand-sewing buttons and final touches.
Where and How It’s Made
Each piece is made either in our own studio or together with our trusted partner family atelier, just a short bike ride away, right here in Amsterdam. Nothing is outsourced. It’s just us, our hands, and a deep respect for the materials we work with.
A Note on Vintage Textiles
All textiles are pre-washed before we begin any transformation process. Because we work with pre-loved vintage fabrics, minor imperfections may be present — part of the story and character of each piece.
Please note: colors may vary slightly from what you see on screen due to natural lighting and different screens. We do our best to show the true feel of the garment. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
Reworked vintage pieces are final sale.
If you'd like more info or extra photos before purchasing, don’t hesitate to email us at info@fitolcollections.com.
You can pre-order your own one-of-a-kind shirt or top, made from carefully selected vintage or pre-loved textiles.
If you love the design, but the piece is sold out, we can create a custom version just for you. While we don’t work with the exact same fabric twice, we can find something beautiful together that suits your style.
Please allow 1–2 weeks for production, and 2–4 weeks for shipping.
