This coat is your cozy companion for cold days, handcrafted with care from carefully selected vintage textiles. It features a mix of a soft Dutch baby blue wool blanket and a striped 70s/80s sleeping bag, thoughtfully upcycled into a one-of-a-kind design.

With a Peter Pan collar, roomy sleeves, and big 2-in-1 patch pockets (4 in total), this coat balances vintage charm with practical comfort. Blue-shaded buttons add a subtle touch of detail, and a hanger loop at the back completes the design.

The unique story behind your coat:

I found this cool double sides wool blanket online from Emme Netherlands, a cute colorful shop owned by Hetty and Jan. They love old stuff, especially '60s and '70s tableware. The blanket, now a cozy jacket with sleeve details from a 80's striped sleeping bag sourced in Zuidhorn, NL, tells a story of running a small business and supporting each other.It's like wearing our common journey – born out of a love for the past. Raw material cost around 100 euros with deadstock lining in blue viscose. (including buttons).

Crafted by Katerina, who mended, and hand washed the blanket, designed the pattern, deconstructed, and cut the material. Sewn by Yasar in our partner’s atelier, and the button loops were hand-sewn by Katerina herself.

From Upcycled Collection : The “Striped” *wool blanket and cotton quilt as raw material.

*100% wool blanket: “Not all wool can be called “pure new wool”. Only the directly processed, first shearing of healthy living sheep receives this name. Unlike regular wool, the fibers have a natural shine. Pure new wool is a wonderful product. Comfortable; on the one hand it maintains body temperature and on the other hand it is permeable to moisture. It regulates the ambient temperature. Environmentally friendly; it is biodegradable and it is a raw material that grows again in nature. Safe; it is flame retardant, antistatic and does not dry out. Durable; it lasts a long time while maintaining its appearance.”

*A quilted blanket is traditionally made of three layers: the quilt top , the batting, and the backing. Around the perimeter of the quilt there is also a part called the binding”
