The Wrap Stories No. 3 - Antique lace edition (OS)

€198.00

From Table to Wardrobe | One of a Kind | Handcrafted in Amsterdam

This reversible wrap apron began as an antique lace-trimmed linen piece(table runner), carefully preserved, mended and given a new purpose through a set of long ties made from soft cotton bedsheets. Handpicked in Amsterdam, Netherlands.

One side highlights the beautiful layered lacework and openwork details of the original textile. Turn it around and a second composition appears, revealing a softer and more minimal character. A delicate antique cream lace trim and a narrow black cord create a subtle contrast, bringing together materials collected separately over time.

Rather than cutting the textile apart, the design follows its original shape, allowing the craftsmanship to remain at the centre of the piece.

Wear it layered over blazer, dresses, skirts, trousers, or simple garments when a small detail is enough.

Two sides. Two stories. One piece.

No second piece exists.

Story : The construction/ approach was developed by adapting to the original textiles rather than reshaping them completely.

A little backstory

This piece began as a small antique household textile, decorated with rows of handmade lace and delicate openwork details. Handpicked in Amsterdam.

Its curved silhouette suggested a simple transformation. Instead of redesigning the textile completely, only long ties were added, allowing it to wrap naturally around the body.

An antique cream lace trim was paired with a narrow black cord, creating a gentle contrast between softness and structure. The ties were made from a vintage cotton bedsheet, allowing yet another forgotten textile to become part of the story. The antique lace pieces are collected through the years, most of them came from France.

The result is a small wearable object that carries many hands within it: the person who embroidered it, the person who made the lace, and the person who carefully transformed it into something new. A connection from the past to present.

Three antique textiles, collected separately, found a reason to belong together.

A small piece once made for the home, now finding its place in the wardrobe.

About the Making

Each piece in the From linen collection takes between 6 to 12+ hours* to complete. (Not to mention the days spent thinking about how to give them a new lease of life!)

  • 2–3 hours: washing, spot cleaning, dyeing, and mending

  • 2.5–4 hours: cutting and placement to preserve original details

  • 1.7–3.5 hours: sewing, finishing, and assembling

Every step is done slowly, with attention to the material and its story.

  • *Hand work and Hand sewing is involved at every stage of the production process.

Where and How It’s Made

Each piece is made either in our own studio or together with our trusted partner family atelier, just a short bike ride away, right here in Amsterdam. Nothing is outsourced. It’s just us, our hands, and a deep respect for the materials we work with.

A Note on Vintage Textiles

All textiles are pre-washed before we begin any transformation process. Because we work with pre-loved vintage fabrics, minor imperfections may be present — part of the story and character of each piece.

Please note: colors may vary slightly from what you see on screen due to natural lighting and different screens. We do our best to show the true feel of the garment. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
