From Blanket to Beauty: A Thoughtful Transformation

Our one-off designs ensure that you will be the only person in the world to be adorned with these unique pieces, a truly warm statement for your winter wardrobe.

Each piece tells its own story. We respect the original details of every blanket (including the all-round trims) and carefully incorporate them into the final design, preserving the essence and warmth of the material we work with.

The "CHOCOLATE BROWN" Jacket - Coat crafted from a vintage 1970s Wijk Leiden blanket (100% pure virgin Dutch wool), this jacket blends nostalgia, craftsmanship, and modern comfort.

Colour: Brown with a red and rich chocolate- brown hue.

This cropped jacket offers versatility with its small stand collar, dropped shoulders, roomy sleeves with preserved raw blanket edges, and two front patch pockets. We love the fluffy texture of the blanket and keep it visible without extra collar stitches or fusing for structure. We use a beautiful striped viscose lining to add a pop of color, and the sleeves are lined with a brown suede fabric. The pockets are lined with the same fabric as the sleeves.

The button loops are made from the same blanket . A hanger loop on the back completes the design. We chose natural-colored wood toggle buttons for closure.

Upcycled "BROWN Velvet" Vintage Blanket Gilet - S/M - Nov'2023
Size:

The unique story behind your coat:

I found this beautiful thick woollen brown blanket online from a small town in Zeeland, Oost Suburg, in a cute online shop owned by Oscar. He mainly sells a variety of antique and vintage items.

The blanket, now a cosy and warm jacket, tells a story about running a small business and supporting each other.

It's like wearing our journey together - born out of love and keeping the luxury for the past. The label was in a good condition, so I kept it on the back with a few hand stitches in red!

Raw materials costs around 115 euros. (Blanket and buttons)

Crafted and sewed by Katerina, who mended, and hand washed the blanket, designed the pattern, deconstructed trims , and cut the material.

We hope you find this story intriguing and enriching. Wrap yourself in warmth and comfort around the clock as the raw fabric has a rich history of over 50 years.

Wear it with joy for years to come and then add your story to it and give it to your loved ones.

Love (and Flowers)

From Upcycled Collection : The “Brown Chocolate” *wool blanket as raw material.

*100% wool blanket: “Not all wool can be called “pure new wool”. Only the directly processed, first shearing of healthy living sheep receives this name. Unlike regular wool, the fibers have a natural shine. Pure new wool is a wonderful product. Comfortable; on the one hand it maintains body temperature and on the other hand it is permeable to moisture. It regulates the ambient temperature. Environmentally friendly; it is biodegradable and it is a raw material that grows again in nature. Safe; it is flame retardant, antistatic and does not dry out. Durable; it lasts a long time while maintaining its appearance.”
